Naenae Bowling Club has been playing on the same green in the Hutt Valley since 1953. Mixed-membership, open twilights every Friday from October to March, and bowls until you find a set you like.

Our story · Chapter one
Three greens, seventy-three summers, one very stubborn hedge.
We opened on land the council forgot about. A few returned servicemen laid the first green by hand — twelve months of level checks, borrowed rollers, and one memorable delivery of the wrong topsoil.
Seventy-three years later, we're still here. Still on the same block. Still watching the same weathervane spin.

Ask us anythingNot a thing. We've got bowls in every weight and enough flat-soled shoes to fit most feet. Wear something comfortable — long trousers and a collared top are fine for socials.
